Good news! It's finally Friday which means we're a few hours away from the weekend. No matter how you choose to spend it — whether building a snowman with bae or wrapping yourself in a blanket cocoon during an hours-long Netflix binge is on your to-do list — we still have to make it through the rest of the work day. And we can't help but ask ourselves: how do we stay focused 'til 5 p.m.? Some people turn to coffee or matcha for their energy boost. We're trying something different here at Lively with our Spirulina Latte recipe.

Made with deconstructed Spirulina capsules, this vegan latte is packed with good-for-you ingredients like ginger, honey, cinnamon and coconut butter. Merely add the blended ingredients to heated almond milk for a rich beverage that will serve as the ultimate midday pick-me-up. Our Fridays have never been sweeter.

Spirulina Latte


  • 2 C almond milk (or milk preference)
  • 2 Spirulina capsules, opened
  • ¼ t ground ginger
  • ¼ t cinnamon
  • 1 t coconut butter or oil
  • 1 T honey (optional)


  1. Heat the milk in a small saucepan until warmed.
  2. Add Spirulina, ginger, cinnamon, coconut butter, honey to a blender.
  3. Blend until smooth, pour into mug and enjoy! Can also be served over iced for an iced latte.
