A Day in the Life of Performance Influencer Relations Manager Dan Caron

Welcome to The Vital Life, where we spotlight Vital Proteins employees. This week, corporate trainer Dan Caron gives us a peek inside his day.

A typical work day for me starts at 4:50 A.M. when I wake up and get ready to train Vital Proteins CEO Kurt Seidensticker for our morning workout. I don’t have an appetite for solid food in the mornings – I’m kind of like a baby – so I start my day off with a protein shake, which has been my go-to for over 10 years now. For the past few years, I’ve been using our collagen products and experimenting with a few. The main product I add to shakes is our Dark Chocolate Blackberry Collagen Peptides; it’s one of my favorites! Recently, I’ve been adding a serving of our Matcha Collagen, which is loaded with antioxidants, a serving of our Veggie Blend, and a serving of the Dark Chocolate Blackberry Collagen Peptides. I personally shoot for 35-40g of protein in this early-morning shake to fit my daily needs.

From there, Kurt picks me up at or around 6 A.M. and we go work out at Equinox. Once we’re done, I drink another shake, post-workout. This one contains a serving of one of our Collagen Whey products. I use the whey post-workout for rapid absorption and the full amino acid complex to help my muscles recover. Once cleaned up, Kurt and I head to the office to start our day of work.

My day to day requires me to be on social media a lot since I work with influencers who promote our brand. I also train other Vital Proteins employees at a local gym where I’m known as the “Vital Trainer.” My clients regularly wear branded t-shirts to work out and promote our company.

Work in the office usually ends between 5 or 6 P.M. for me. Then I take an Uber home. During the ride, I clear out my Instagram DMs. Once home, I usually eat, shower, update my workouts, and attempt to reply to emails so the next morning isn’t spent cleaning out my inbox.

Before bed, I always crave something sweet – preferably chocolate. This is when I get creative with my shakes and add peanut butter, fruit, and whatever else I am craving. I mix them with almond or coconut milk for a creamier texture. Then, I add any chocolate-flavored Vital Proteins products. Lately, it’s been our Dark Chocolate Sports Greens mixed with frozen blueberries and honey or maple syrup. It’s delicious. I drink this before bed and feel relaxed and ready to take on the next day, which consists of the same schedule. (I’m a creature of habit.) There is one key difference, however. On the weekends, I treat myself to a cup or two of Vital Coffee and our Mocha Collagen Creamer.
