Lively: Thanks for sharing your day with us! To kick things off, can you tell us about what you do at Vital Proteins and what you enjoy about your role?
Meara O'Neill: I am the Senior Manager of Omni Channel at Vital Proteins! Vital has a very collaborative, lively and mission driven culture that makes for a really great place to work.
L: Walk us through your morning routine – how has it changed (or not) since staying home?
MO: The moment I get up, I make my bed, open my shades and head into my kitchen where I grab a large glass of water with lemon. While sipping on that, I start to make my coffee – I do a pour-over with a dash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and 1 scoop of Vital Proteins® Original Collagen Peptides ($27; shop now). L: Where have you been getting inspiration for projects or tasks you might be working on throughout the day?
MO: I really enjoy going into stores and getting inspiration from there! I live right in downtown Chicago, so I have a ton of amazing places right outside my door that I visit on a regular basis. Social media is, of course, also a huge source of inspiration.
L: Lunchtime! What's your plan?
MO: Lunchtime is usually something quick I can make in between meetings, like avocado toast with salt and pepper, lemon and red pepper flakes, or arugula salad with chickpeas, cucumber, tomato and homemade dressing. My go-to dressing consists of extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, lemon and mustard.
L: You're hitting your mid-afternoon slump. How do you re-energize your afternoon?
MO: My favorite treat in the afternoon is an iced matcha! I make it by adding 1 scoop of our Matcha Collagen ($53; shop now) to a cup of hot water and stirring until dissolved. L: How have you been practicing #wellnessfromhome these days?
MO: One of my favorite wellness activities is laying or standing on my acupuncture mat while listening to a Headspace meditation. After a long day, it helps relieve any stress and tension in my back from sitting all day. I also love winding down with a cup of hot chai tea.
