Lively: Thanks for sharing your day with us, Hanna! To kick things off, can you tell us about what you do at Vital Proteins and what you enjoy about your role?
Hanna Lee: I am the Director of Brand Experience here at Vital Proteins. I oversee the integrated marketing process and lead content development and production. I work collaboratively with the marketing department to bring to life cohesive strategy and marketing programming for new product launches and key drive periods. What I love most about my job is being able to push creative boundaries and connect with our Vital community through content! I love directing photography and videography and bringing creative to life with my amazing content teams.
L: Walk us through your morning routine – how has it changed (or not) since staying home?
HL: I have been pretty consistent with my morning routine even during quarantine! I always start my mornings with stretches on my yoga mat to get my muscles moving. Then, I make myself a cup of black coffee with two scoops of Vital Proteins Original Collagen Peptides. The OG Collagen Peptides will always be my morning go-to, without fail! Then, I take 4 Vital Proteins Cartilage Capsules to help support my joints and ligaments.** I tore my ACL in January (long story), and these capsules have really helped me with my rehab and recovery!
I’m usually at my work station catching up on social and watching The Today Show by 7 a.m. (loyal fan since 2008). My workday normally starts around 8 a.m., so I’m in full work mode by then - turn off TV, head down & plug in my headphones. I’ve noticed ever since I started working from home that it’s easy to get sucked into my computer for hours on end. I’m talking, HOURS without looking up from my computer! I’ve made an intentional effort to stand up in between calls to stretch, walk around, drink water and go out on my balcony and breathe in some fresh air just to refresh my mind. It’s so important for my mental and physical well-being!
L: Where have you been getting inspiration for projects or tasks you might be working on throughout the day?
HL: I’ve been inspired by the social space, especially TikTok. It has introduced us to a new interactive audience, who love to engage with our brand. TikTok has sparked creativity in how we approach content production - sky's the limit! In addition, I have always been inspired by our Vital community. I am so excited for us to launch a new initiative called, Vital Voices, a way for us to engage with our community more and listen to our fans from all walks of life. We want to continue to amplify our consumers’ voices on various platforms - showcase their diverse backgrounds, stories and experiences.
L: Lunchtime! What’s your plan?
HL: I’ve been intermittent fasting for 1 year now! It works for me and my routine. Lunch is my first meal of the day, so I try to get as many nutrients in with this meal. My go-to lunch consists of:
- Smoothie or acai bowl made with berries, banana, kale, almond milk and two scoops of Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens
- Avocado toast with fried egg + dash of hot sauce
L: You’re hitting your mid-afternoon slump. How do you re-energize your afternoon?
HL: I slam a few glasses of water! I’ll also make myself a cup of iced coffee and move my work station outside to my balcony. Change of scenery helps a ton!
L: How have you been practicing #wellnessfromhome these days?
HL: Practicing gratitude and self-reflection has been a priority for me these days. I’m taking this time to truly reset my mind and body. With my ACL injury happening right before quarantine, it’s given me a new perspective on letting go of control and being grateful for my health. The little things bring me so much joy now, like being able to stand up and go on a walk without any help. I’m now more motivated than ever to get back into exercising and look forward to being more active once I’m fully recovered! My husband and I go on walks every night, and it’s now ingrained into my routine. We’ve never walked so much in our lives - can you relate?!
