This Smoothie Is Junior Creative Project Manager Jordan Bazemore’s Go-To Post-Workout Fuel

Welcome to The Vital Life where we spotlight Vital Proteins® employees. This week, our Junior Creative Project Manager, Jordan Bazemore, gives us a look inside her remote workday. 

Lively: Thanks for sharing your day with us! To kick things off, can you tell us about what you do at Vital Proteins and what you enjoy about your role?

Jordan Bazemore: I am the Junior Creative Project Manager here at Vital Proteins and what I love most about my role is being the liaison between our amazing designers and cross functional teams to establish expectations and help everyone stay on track when it comes to ideating, collaborating and producing creative/design assets. These can range from social media posts to email marketing and website needs, in-store signage, product packaging, event or tradeshow displays and more.

L: Walk us through your morning routine – how has it changed (or not) since staying home?

JB: First thing I like to do when waking up is make my bed and drink water right away. Since working from home, I no longer have to commute so I either get in a morning workout or enjoy a slow start to my morning before opening the laptop. The extra time is great to pop on a podcast or meditation.

L: Where have you been getting inspiration for projects or tasks you might be working on throughout the day?

JB: A lot of inspiration and motivation comes from social media or LinkedIn. I find there are a lot of great resources and articles in regard to collaboration and working more efficiently. I love learning more about topics like that! Also just chatting with colleagues via Slack and building ideas off one another.

L: Lunchtime! What’s your plan?

JB: Usually it’s leftovers from dinner the day before but if I decide to squeeze in a midday workout, I’ll whip up a smoothie afterward. This one’s in bowl form and has our Chocolate Collagen Peptides, banana, peanut butter, avocado and oat milk! Topped with cherries, granola and coconut flakes.

L: You’re hitting your mid-afternoon slump. How do you re-energize your afternoon?

JB: I like to make myself a snack! My favorite is trail mix paired with some mango or apple slices. Other times, I’ll head to my sister’s room to bother her and get a laugh in since we’re roomies!

L: How have you been practicing #wellnessfromhome these days?

JB: By giving myself a break from screen time. Stretching more throughout the day or going on a walk and exploring new spots since I moved to Los Angeles last summer.
